Contract Cancellation

Contract Cancellation

This form is used for students wishing to cancel their contract prior to the semester beginning.

All single students under 21 years of age with fewer than 30 hours of transferable credit after high school graduation are required to live in university housing...all other students are welcome as space permits.

Please be advised that if you are required to live on campus, your Student Housing Contract will not be cancelled with this form. All students required to live on campus, including those students who live at their parents’ permanent address within a 60-mile radius from Springfield, must submit a Request for Exception to the University Housing Policy form before contract cancellation will be considered.

For returning residence hall students: If cancellation is submitted and accepted by the Department of Residence Life, Housing and Dining Services by 11:59 p.m., April 1 for fall, no fees will be assessed. From April 2 to the day before the residence halls open for the fall semester, the $100 security deposit will be forfeited. Once the halls open, contracts cannot be canceled through this process. For new residence hall students: If cancellation is submitted and accepted by the Department of Residence Life, Housing and Dining Services by 11:59 p.m. May 1 for fall (December 1 for Spring-only contracts), no fees will be assessed.
